How DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder ) can be diagnosed

Multiple personality disorder is a complex psychological disorder which is caused due to physical trauma from early childhood . People with this personality disorder exists two or more personality within them , but not aware about it .

Cause of DID :

But still now the causes of Dissociative is exactly not found , it could be due to strong emotional neglect or abuse from Childhood days. Moreover , environmental stress can also be one reason to admit for the cause of Dissociative Disorder . As many as 99% of individuals who develop dissociative disorders have recognized personal histories of recurring, overpowering, and often life-threatening disturbances at a sensitive developmental stage of childhood

Children have more chances to affect by DID . Neglection from the family and social surroundings emotionally damages their sense of self and their personality . At younger stage personality and self sense are not cohesive and the are immature to accept the reality .
So the younger is the one who are more affected to DID when they undergo these physical trauma.

They are likely to be affected by DID if they have neither some one to express their perspective nor to listen them carefully .

Sometimes , they do not associate with external environment withdrawing from social interaction . This type of behaviour is developed in a child naturally . In nature they would be like that .

Most commonly DID is being associated to physical trauma or disorganised attachment .

Simply to say , trauma caused from the care ones or the person may be frightening the Children .

Usually DID is diagnosed at adulthood , Though it occurs from the Childhood .

How is DID is treated ?

Diagnosis of DID is difficult because it is known to a person after spending several years with this psych Disorder.

This is because people having the symptom with this disorder have common symptoms of other psychiatrist or psychological disorder . Anxiety and depression are also the cause for DID .
So , most of us do not initially figure out it is DID because of its common symptoms seen in all the other basic common symptoms .

Some of the criteria to be followed in Diagnosing DID :

Two or more personalities in a single person , relatively enduring pattern of relating oneself and the environment .

Amnesia , forgetting things that have occurred previously in a certain period of time

The person may be over distressed and find it tough to communicating easily with the others or socializing with others.

The person with this disorder feels disturbed or not remembering the events taken place previously , because at that time he/she may in different state of mind while they come back to current state obviously they won't remember that period of time where they are completely different.

The symptoms can not be due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (such as blackouts or chaotic behaviour during alcohol intoxication) or a general medical condition (such as complex partial seizures).
